Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Elmquist specializes in general ophthalmology and cataract surgery. His services include comprehensive eye exams, as well as diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, glaucoma, presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia and other eye conditions.

A fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Elmquist served as an ophthalmology resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 1985 to 1988. He was selected as Chief Resident at Walter Reed and served in this capacity from 1987 to 1988. Elmquist was also the Chief of the eye clinic at Homestead AFB from 1988 to 1990. He has been in private practice in Fort Myers since 1990. His hospital affiliations include the Eye Specialist’s Laser & Surgery Center, Health Park Hospital, Gulf Coast Medical Center, Lee Memorial Hospital and Cape Coral Hospital. Elmquist is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Lee County Osteopathic Medical Society and Lee County Medical Society.
